Cathleen Adams, MD is a diplomate of the American Boards of Pediatrics, and Psychiatry and Neurology; board certified as a General Psychiatrist, Child Psychiatrist and Pediatrician. She attended medical school at Pennsylvania State University and completed the Triple Board Residency Program at Brown University where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Adams is the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at Brown, the Psychiatry Excellence in Teaching Award at Geisinger Health, and AACAP’s Award for Resident Educational Outreach. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Lehigh University in psychopharmacology. Previously, Dr. Adams was the Medical Director of the Med/Psych unit at Hasbro Children's Hospital, the Director of the Consult-Liaison Service at the Janet Weiss Children’s Hospital and the Residency Training Director at Geisinger Health Care in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Adams handles high complexity cases involving medical and psychiatric illness. She is a highly trained expert in family and couples therapy, including blended families, LGBTQIA++ children and families and families struggling with multiple illnesses.
